My daughter and her husband have discovered they are pregnant with their first child. They already have three cats so things will get very busy very quickly.
They are both data oriented in all aspects of their lives. They are on top of the tools at their disposal. My daughter gets a positive pregnancy result before missing her period. I am stunned that this is even possible.
This is wonderful news for everyone. Let the preparations begin!
After the news is shared, my daughter begins to send weekly updates from her pregnancy app to show how big the baby is this week, beginning with a seed from a vanilla pod. The app is “What to Expect” and is its own universe of information about pregnancy and then the developing baby once the baby is born. I’ve never seen anything like this before and join her in laughing over the weekly images as the food items get bigger: lentil, pea . . . . My daughter tells me that other images are available related to baked goods and children’s toys for visuals of the baby’s size!
I want to be a big part of this baby’s life. I start thinking about what that will look like.
